Phoenix Contact Covers Its Products for Life. Here's How to Make Sure Yours Are.

Most component warranties run for a set number of years.

Phoenix Contact Australia's Complete Cabinet Confidence Lifetime Warranty covers many of its products against defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the product.

It sits on top of Phoenix Contact's standard product warranties. Registration is a short online form. Staying covered comes down to three simple steps.

Here's what the program covers, how to register and what to get right in the build.

What it means for your builds

A control cabinet is only as dependable as the components inside it. When one fails, the replacement part is often the smallest cost. The call-out, the downtime and the fault-finding add up faster.

For registered customers, a lifetime warranty on the components changes that calculation:

•       Defective covered products are repaired or replaced by Phoenix Contact, for the life of the product

•       Fewer unplanned replacement costs over the life of the installation

•       More confidence when specifying components for long-life projects such as infrastructure, utilities and process plants

For OEMs and machine builders, the cover can carry through to your customers. If you build covered Phoenix Contact products into a machine or system you sell, your customer can also be covered for those products. You both need to register in the program. That gives you a lifetime warranty to offer the people who buy your equipment.

What a lifetime warranty says about the product

A manufacturer only offers lifetime cover on products it expects to last.

Phoenix Contact is a German manufacturer of electrical engineering, electronics and automation products, with a network across more than 100 countries and around 22,000 employees. Its products are designed and built for control cabinets in demanding environments, across energy, infrastructure, process and factory automation.

If you're not using Phoenix Contact yet, the Lifetime Warranty is a useful way to judge the range. The manufacturer is putting its own name behind the long-term reliability of the products.

“Phoenix Contact's Lifetime Warranty gives us the confidence to invest in their products knowing they're built to last. It's a testament to their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.”

Aaron Grant, General Manager, Power Reliability, Azzo

Registering takes a few minutes

Registration is done online through Phoenix Contact's Lifetime Warranty page. The form asks for your:

•       Name

•       Email

•       Phone number

•       Company name

•       Street address, city or town, postcode and state

You'll also tick a box to confirm you've read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions, then click Register Now.

There's no need to list products or upload invoices to register. Keep your purchase records on file, as Phoenix Contact may check your purchase history when a claim is made.

One point matters more than any other. Cover starts on the date you register. Products bought before registration aren't covered. If you buy Phoenix Contact products, or plan to, register now so that your next order is covered from day one.

👉 Register on the Phoenix Contact website.

The three steps to stay covered

Phoenix Contact sets out three steps:

1.    Submit your registration.

2.    Select and install Phoenix Contact products in accordance with Phoenix Contact's recommendations. Products have to be installed, operated and maintained within Phoenix Contact's published specifications and installation recommendations.

3.    Make sure all electronics are powered and protected with appropriate Phoenix Contact power supplies and surge protection. This applies at installation and at all times after.

Step 3 is the one to plan for at the design stage. Phoenix Contact treats reliable power as the foundation of every control system, so the warranty relies on the cabinet being properly powered and protected from the start.

If you're unsure which power supply or surge protection suits your application, Phoenix Contact's Technical Support Team can advise on 1300 786 411. Our team can also help you select the right combination for your build.
