Industrial Audible Alarms - Floyd Bell alarms stocked by Switches Plus

Floyd Bell Inc. designs and manufactures solid-state, piezoelectric audible alarms used as audible alerts across a wide range of equipment and environments. Their alarms are built for durability, reliability and maintenance-free operation, with designs suited to demanding industrial conditions.

Switches Plus stocks two established Floyd Bell alarm ranges: Turbo Series and AudioLarm II Series.

Audible alerts in everyday equipment

Floyd Bell alarms are commonly used as audible alerts in applications such as automobiles, elevators, forklifts, golf carts, airport metal detectors, school buses and commercial equipment including deep fryers.

The breadth of available configurations allows alarms to be selected based on electrical, mounting and signalling requirements, rather than forcing a single fixed solution.

Turbo Series – compact, front-mount alarms

The Turbo Series is a small, front-mount piezo buzzer designed to fit a 1.065″ panel hole, delivering high sound output from a compact enclosure.

It is available with:

  • Seven tones: continuous, beep, warble, siren, whoop, staccato and chime

  • Two volume levels

  • Four termination options

  • Operating voltage ranges covering 5–30 Vdc, 5–15 Vdc, 9–48 Vdc and 5–24 Vac/dc

Turbo Series alarms are epoxy encapsulated and polarity protected, with solid-state electronics housed in a flame-retardant thermoplastic enclosure and a stainless steel, corrosion-resistant sound diaphragm. When used with an optional gasket, NEMA Type 4X environmental security is available.

AudioLarm II Series – broad configuration flexibility

The AudioLarm II Series offers a wide selection of piezoelectric audible alarms with multiple tone, output and mounting options.

Available configurations include:

  • Four tones: continuous, beep, warble and chime

  • Three sound output levels: extra loud, loud and medium

  • Four beep rates and two chime rates

  • Dual-tone models

The series supports a wide operating voltage range from 1–48 Vdc, with AC models available up to 220 V. Mounting options include panel mount through a standard 1-1/8″ round hole and PC board mounting.

Like the Turbo Series, AudioLarm II alarms are epoxy encapsulated, polarity protected and use solid-state electronics with no moving parts. Selected bodies offer NEMA Type 4X environmental security when used with an optional gasket, and an optional shutter-type manual volume control provides up to 20 dB attenuation.
