Techno’s TH405 UP and TH406 UP connectors provide a reliable high-performance solution for electrical connections across a wide range of industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Expanding the TEEPLUG product line, they offer high protection against water and dust ingress (IP66-IP68) and are ideal for powering medium- and high-power equipment, including systems with solar panels and inverters. Their versatility also makes them suitable for many other applications, such as low-voltage power distribution, outdoor and public lighting, industrial automation systems, ventilation, pumping and air-conditioning units, as well as equipment used in marine environments or in damp or submerged conditions.
These connectors are designed to support rated currents of up to 41A (2-pole), 32A (3-pole), and 17.5A (5-6 pole), and rated voltages of 500V AC (250V AC for Class II use). Available in 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8-pole versions with screw terminals, they accommodate cables with diameters from 10 mm to 16.5 mm and support a variety of conductor cross-section ranges depending on the selected polarity. The TH405UP features compact plug and socket dimensions of 139 mm when mated, and 79 mm and 76 mm respectively when separate. TH406UP refers to the panel-mount version, suitable for installation on panels from 1 mm to 10 mm thick. Both models can operate in environments with temperatures up to 100°C.
These new connectors use silicone grommets and seals, offering exceptional elasticity and resistance to harsh environmental conditions and compression across a wide temperature range, from -55°C to +300°C. The high elastic recovery of the silicone enhances performance and ensures maximum IP protection. Silver-plated contacts are designed for conductors up to 6 mm² and are finished with silver to provide excellent electrical conductivity and minimise power loss. The coupling ring and bayonet-style quick-lock system, combined with a secure locking/unlocking mechanism, provide greater resistance to vibration and mechanical stress, ensuring electrical continuity. Disconnection is only possible with the use of a dedicated tool.
After wiring the chosen polarity configuration, the connectors are inserted into their housing using the supplied key and locked with a counterclockwise twist. Connection between the TH405UP plug and socket is achieved via the bayonet coupling and manual rotation of the locking ring until it reaches the stop. Pressing the locking button towards the closed padlock symbol printed on the housing locks the ring in place, preventing accidental disconnection or tampering. Disconnection is carried out by pressing the locking button towards the open padlock symbol and manually rotating the ring. The panel-mount version also requires insertion of the plug or socket into the housing (ensuring the threaded side is used) and follows a similar procedure, thanks to the same bayonet locking mechanism.
TH405UP and TH406UP are made of PA66 rated UL94 V0, the highest flame-retardant classification for plastics. This feature is essential for industrial and electronic applications where fire safety is critical. V0 classification ensures the connector self-extinguishes within 10 seconds without dripping molten material during testing.
Available accessories include a dedicated installation/removal key for 2-, 3-, and 5-pole inserts, and protective caps, which safeguard the connectors from dust and moisture when not in use.
